mexico, Police, and time shares

Happy Birthday DREW!! So on January 4th my favorite person had his 27th... birthday so we celebrated by going to Mexico. I love you Drew!



So as you heard- last week we went on a trip to Mazatlan Mexico! It was awesome~ we stayed at a super sweet resort a few minutes out of town. Our resort was full fun things. Pools-Iguanas-Flamingos-swans-geckos and what not. Outside of the resort was dirty and not so pleasant..so we stayed at the resort most of the time. Anyway while we were there we went zip lining, swimming, snorkeling, and off roading. A total blast with my lover.








Here is the fun part- On our way home from our trip we had a 5 hour lay over in cabo san lucas. So what did we decide to do? Go to the beach of course. We went and found the taxi service area for the airport and asked how much to go to the beach. They told us it would be 80 dollars to go to Cabo beach.





OUTRAGEOUS price right?? so we asked them if there was a closer beach we could go to. They told us san jose beach was 20 min away and would cost us 15 dollars. We talked about it and decided to go for it. We got in the taxi and made small talk with the Mexican- told him when our flight was and where we were from yada yada. Then we stopped at the bank to get some cash before we arrived at the beach. Drew gets back in the car and asks how much 15 dollars is in pesos.





The Mexican driver says 500 pesos.... WHAT?? Drew says "no no--- 500 pesos is about 50 dollars and you said it would be 15 dollars" The taxi driver and him began to argue in Spanish back and forth and Drew tells him to pull over because WE ARE NOT paying him 50 dollars.... He refuses to pull over because we were almost there, and insisted that we pay or else he would call the police.

When we arrived at the beach I got out of the car with hopes the situation would disappear- but of course it didn't.

Drew starts to get out of the car but continues to argue with the taxi driver. He tells the taxi driver that we wont pay him 500 pesos but gives him 200 pesos with hopes to satisfy him. The taxi driver then picks up his phone and tells Drew that he is calling the police. Drew makes a sassy remark and says, "well make sure to tell them that you lied."

WE BOTH TOOK OFF RUNNING down the beach. We went pretty far down the beach and then decided it would be best to hide in a resort and take our clothes off(we had swimsuits underneath) so we would be unrecognizable. We walked into a resort signed our name on the towel list and got some towels.

We hid for a while and saw no police but I was freaked out!!! wonder if we get put in Mexican jail??? never to be seen again! What if they're waiting for us at the Airport?? What if? what if? what if?

Anyway obviously we made it home safe because im writing this blog but man alive when we got to the airport we had to lay low and watch out for the cops. I felt so much relief once we got on the airplane back to America! I think we will be staying away from mexico for a while.

Story #2

So a few days ago we went to a time share presentation so that we could get a FREE trip to Hawaii!!! On our way there we talked about how funny it would be if they talked us into buying one but swore to eachother that would not happen. About two hours into the presentation the guy left for a minute and I turned to Drew and said "this isn't even a good deal" Drew says "ya it is...I want to buy one- but of course were not going to." After he had told me that I started paying more attention and asking many questions about the time share.

...When they asked if we wanted to buy one i exclaimed "YES!" He said "umm can i please talk to my wife alone for a minute." We talked about the cool things about it and if we could afford it and so on....We finally came to a conclusion at 3pm that day (6 hours from the time we had gotten there) that we WERE GOING TO BUY IT...AND WE DID! so now we have our own time share and I guess we will work on getting a house later.

After all isn't vacationing a priority???? Our first vacation will be to the Bahamas sometime this year.... and to make matters even better they gave us free flights there and free golf at Welk resort for an entire year!! woohoo!!
