The red light runner....

About a week and half ago I was hit extremely hard by what i call a "red light runner" some chick wasn't paying attention while she was driving and failed to notice that her light was red and that mine was green. by the time I realized that she was a red light runner it was way too late. My eyes caught hers...my mouth dropped open...I braced myself..and EXPECTED to die.

as she hit me at full speed i felt the car go up sideways and as the car came back on all fours my head hit the window rather hard...

BUT..... a moment of relief came to me when i realized that i was still alive and ok. I checked for blood...none. felt my legs.....good touched my head....a bit tender.

then hysteria set in and I realized that i was still in the middle of the intersection.(you've all seen the movies where they get hit again right?) i tried to open my door but it wouldn't open (obviously right)I climbed out the other side of the car and frantically looked for my phone...I finally found it in the crack on the other side of the car (where most everything had flown to)

I got out of the car...and...WALKED IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. thank goodness for the construction workers and there stop signs. I probably would have been hit.

I sat on the middle of the intersection on a cement divider for a while balling my eyes out. Then came to grips and called my sweet husband.

The police showed up took a report and i waited for the tow truck driver as well as my prince to show up.

FINALLY THEY BOTH ARRIVED. it was so nice to fall into drew's arms safe and sound. The rest of the day was perfect..he took me out to lunch and then to get my head and back checked out.

At the doctor they had me do those finger to nose drills and decided that My head is good!!(good job doc.) I am currently getting my back fixed but i'm alive and well and so grateful I was not hurt worse. THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER.

unfortunately my car is toast. We are working on getting new one very soon. let me know if you have any good ideas!

side note: I was very bothered that the girl who hit me never even got out of her car to say "hey girl are you ok..or sorry...or SOMETHING!" it later occurred to me that she may have been hurt and that it was very selfish of me for not asking if she was ok. SORRY red light runner...but be more careful next time.

safe and sound together :)

I recommend getting an SUV or something big enough for kids stuff (eventually) if you plan on keeping it long-ish term. We got my '07 camry, which we both loved, but then kids came along and we ran out of room pretty quick (for road trips that is). Just an idea- so you don't have to buy two new cars within 3 years- duh for us! Glad you're okay. Enjoy getting a great car :)
